The New Product and Development team at CROWN Bevcan EMEA is looking for a VIE (Volontariat International en Entreprise) as New Product Development Engineer. This position reports to the NPD and Graphics Manager and is based at our site in Wantage, United Kingdom. This VIE contract is intended for any EU nationals and offers a fixed-term contract of 18 to 24 months (12 months maximum in the UK, which could be extended in another EU country for another 12 months).

The primary purpose of this VIE contract is to support the development and delivery of packaging innovations, assisting the NPD Manager with project coordination, preparation of customer-facing materials and the management of marketing samples. The position offers broad exposure to R&D, Sales, Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams across EMEA and contributes directly to customer innovation programmes.

Main Missions
  • NPD Project Support
    • Support New Product Development projects, managing smaller initiatives independently and contributing to larger programmes.
    • Track project timelines and ensure regular updates to key stakeholders.
    • Support industrial trials and coordination with internal teams.
    • Prepare documentation to support new products for Sales, Operations, and manufacturing sites.
    • Contribute to strategy and decision‑support presentations related to new product development.
  • Customer Presentations and Innovation Support
    • Support the preparation of customer innovation presentations and materials.
    • Update and refresh NPD communication tools and presentation assets.
    • Assist the Sales team in organising customer innovation meetings.
    • Work closely with the innovation team to prepare samples, visuals, and other assets for customer engagements.
  • Industry Awards Support
    • Support the Marketing Communications team with industry award submissions by:
    • Identifying suitable products for entry.
    • Providing supporting intelligence and content for award justifications.
    • Coordinating the supply of product samples where required.
  • Sample Management
    • Manage all Marketing samples located in Wantage.
    • Maintain an organised tracking system for sample inventory and requests.
    • Coordinate sample shipments for customer visits, internal reviews, and events.
Qualifications

You hold a master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Engineering disciplines, with initial professional experience or relevant internships in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of print and colour processes would be an advantage.

You are a strong communicator at all levels of the organisation, able to interact effectively in written and spoken English with R&D engineers, scientists and Operations teams. You can translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible information for non-technical stakeholders and bring experience in project coordination, customer or external presentations and technical documentation.

A self-starter, you are curious, adaptable, and keen to learn, with strong attention to detail. You are IT-literate and comfortable working with Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
