About this opportunity
We are now looking to recruit a Production Engineer Deco within our central Production Engineering Department (PED) of Bevcan EMEA. The role will be based at one of our European plant locations. The scope of the role is to support the 12 manufacturing locations in Europe (UK, France, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Greece, Germany and Turkey) and 5 in the Middle East and North Africa (UAE, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia). You will also be involved in project work at new greenfield sites and newly acquired manufacturing locations.
Your mission in Crown
Join us and participate in all the activities of the Metal decorating within the Project Engineering Team to improve all standards of the manufacturing processes in terms of quality, cost and efficiency.
The primary areas of activity and responsibility will include the Rutherford and Concorde decorators, pin-ovens, base protection systems and materials applied in the print process. You will be fully participating in all other areas of the Metal Finishing department, including Can Washing/Water Treatment and Metal protection.
You promote the development of SOPs, Best Practices and Cost Reduction Programmes. You deliver classroom and hands-on training of Metal Finishing equipment and processes. You provide project support in all associated documentation, procurement and commissioning related to coater and decorator area equipment. You also provide operational support in all areas of Coaters, decorators and changeover and cost reduction activities.
You are liaising with CROWN Technology on equipment, tooling, materials and process improvements and standardisation of specifications.
About you
The successful candidate has a sound engineering background/ or you are qualified to ONC, HNC, HND or degree level. You are highly experienced in 2pc engineering and process knowledge, with a safety mind-set. You have the ability to acquire and utilise knowledge in the specific areas of coating and decorating equipment, base protection systems, pin-ovens and associated materials.
You are able to show proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels and you demonstrate with a logical approach, high levels of problem-solving and effective decision-making skills.
A self-starter, you are an effective team player, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills. You are as well computer literate. You are flexible to travel at short notice and for extended periods overseas, with the willingness to adapt to different cultures and circumstances. Fluency in English, another European language a plus.
