About this opportunity
The position of the Credit Controller for CMBe is created to effectively collect the receivables of the Engineering customers. The role is being transferred to Wantage from Shipley to act as the point of contact with the Engineering Commercial Team.
Main responsibilities:
- Proactive chasing of customers for payments due.
- Organise and prepare regular meetings with the Engineering team to effectively manage receivables and minimise over-dues.
- Daily allocation of customer payments in the ERP system (JDE).
- Prepare cash forecasts for Group Treasury.
- Resolve customer queries in advance of payments due.
- Factor the eligible debts and perform month-end reconciliation.
- Month-end and mid-month reporting of overdue balances.
- Perform credit reviews on new and existing accounts.
- Clean up old debt outstanding on the ledger.
- Complete workflows for creating new customers in JDE.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.
- Ad-hoc duties as required.
Required qualifications, skills and experience:
- Studying for CICM or AAT.
- Previous finance experience or credit role.
- Computer literate with an interest in finance systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
- Ability to communicate effectively by phone and email.
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively within a diverse cultural environment.
- Flexibility to travel within the UK and occasionally Europe.
- Potential to grow within the organisation.
- Highly organised.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Desire to continue studying in AAT or CICM.
- Experience with ERP finance systems (JD Edwards / ARAS / SAP).
- Previous experience in a shared service function.
- Exposure to Sarbanes Oxley.
