About this opportunity:
The position of the Corporate GL Controller is to perform the financial activities of the Crown Packaging Services EMEA entity and oversee the reporting of the other Corporate entities within the team. Additionally, you will prepare the UK GAAP compliant statutory accounts for 8 legal entities requiring strict adherence to SOX controls and principles.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Report the US GAAP monthly management results in the Crown Consolidation tool, One-Stream.
- Provide the business with an analysis of the results, explanation of significant variances through effective management accounting.
- Preparation of the annual Budget and quarterly Rolling forecasts in line with Crown requirements and entering into the One-Stream consolidation tool.
- Calculation and preparation of the UK GAAP compliant statutory accounts for 8 legal entities in the UK.
- Preparation of transfer pricing documentation as and when required by European tax colleagues and authorities.
- Calculation and preparation of Corporate Services EMEA recharge as well as other direct and indirect recharges.
- Assisting with and co-ordination of audit requests from company auditors (internal and external).
- Administer corporate invoices, match to PARs and submit for processing and payment.
- Reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts on a monthly basis, with follow up actions.
- Create and post manual journals, calculation of accruals and prepayments.
- Manage Governmental statistics.
- Oversee UK VAT returns submission.
- Ensure SOX Compliance in all processes.
- Manage a team of 3 people.
- Other ad hoc projects as required.
Essential skills and experience:
- CIMA or ACCA qualified with substantial post qualification work experience.
- Experience working in a finance function.
- Able to work to strict and tight deadlines.
- Experience with ERP finance systems.
- Budget preparation.
- Attention to detail and diligence.
- Experience of people management.
- Preparation of UK GAAP compliant statutory accounts.
- Experience with finance systems.
- Able to work and communicate effectively within a diverse cultural environment.
- Flexibility to travel within the UK and occasionally to Europe.
- Highly organised.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a shared service centre or corporate function.
- Exposure to Sarbanes Oxley.
- Experience with ERP SAP finance systems.
