CROWN Packaging Manufacturing UK Limited is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Warehouse Forklift Operator to support our manufacturing and distribution operations by efficiently moving, stacking, and organizing materials within our warehouse facilities. We currently have a vacancy for a Warehouse Forklift Operator working continuous shifts (2 x 12 hours days & 2 x 12 hour nights, followed by 4 rest days), based in Botcherby, Carlisle (UK).
Responsibilities
- Operate counterbalance forklifts to load and unload delivery vehicles, transport goods, and stack materials in designated areas.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report any defects or malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
- Accurately move and store raw materials, finished products, and packaging supplies.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of inventory, adhering to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles where applicable.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate stock records.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE and following safe operating practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members and other departments to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as required.
Qualifications
- Valid and current Forklift Operator license/certification (e.g., counterbalance).
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to read and understand shipping/receiving documents and inventory labels.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in material handling.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
