CROWN Packaging Manufacturing UK Limited is seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our team as Engineering Apprentices, specialising in either Mechanical or Electrical disciplines. This is an exciting opportunity to learn from expert engineers, gain hands-on experience, and work towards recognised engineering qualifications within a world-class manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Learning and Applying Engineering Principles: Developing an understanding of key mechanical or electrical engineering concepts and applying them to real manufacturing processes.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Assisting engineers with routine inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance to keep machinery running efficiently.
  • Fault Finding & Diagnostics: Supporting the diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical or electrical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Repairs & Installations: Helping with the repair, replacement, and installation of mechanical components: bearings, gearboxes, motors, pneumatics; electrical systems: wiring, PLCs, sensors, control panels (all under supervision).
  • Safety & Compliance: Following all company health and safety regulations and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Documentation: Assisting with maintenance records, repair logs and equipment performance documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contributing ideas and supporting initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability and safety.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Working alongside engineers, technicians and colleagues across departments to support operational needs.
  • Formal Training: Taking part in structured apprenticeship training, including college coursework and practical assessments to achieve relevant engineering qualifications.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 5 (C) or above, including Maths and English.
