We have a new vacancy for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to be based primarily at our site in Shipley, Bradford with the ability to travel to other CMb sites as and when required.

Your mission in CMbE

Reporting to the CI & Manufacturing Engineer Manager, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer will aim to develop and improve processes throughout the operational areas, with typical responsibilities including:

  • Designing of new equipment, processes, procedures and systems
  • Purchasing and overseeing equipment installation
  • Working cross functionally in manufacturing and assembly areas
  • Engaging with other teams as per project requirements, i.e. CI, maintenance and production engineering
  • Leading, supporting, and developing a team of Manufacturing Engineers
  • Setting and reviewing objectives aligned with operational goals
  • Designing and implementing new systems, equipment, and processes to support product introduction
  • Supporting DfM/DfA activities
  • Leading equipment reviews and tenders
  • Liaising with suppliers and customers
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Developing and maintaining PFMEA
  • Managing budgets and performance data in collaboration with finance
  • Working closely with R&D to ensure products are ready for manufacture
  • Developing automated and manual systems
  • Testing processes
  • Championing change management
  • Promoting SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost)
  • Improving efficiency, quality, and speed

About you

Candidates must hold, as a minimum, a degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer or in a similar engineering role and will possess proven project management skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and be able to demonstrate a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Proficiency in CAD, including both 2D and 3D systems, ideally AutoCAD and Siemens NX, is required. Formal training in Six Sigma would be advantageous, although not essential. The successful candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in discrete part manufacture and assembly. Knowledge of can making equipment is advantageous but not essential.
