Crown Hills Community College blends a 70-year history of inclusive education with an innovative, forward-looking approach to providing a state education to 1500 students from inner city backgrounds. The school seeks to appoint an exceptional individual to work alongside 200 other staff as part of the SEND department. You would join a well-established SEND department comprising the SENDCo, Deputy SENDCo, and a team of Teaching Assistants.
Over the past three years, the school has changed significantly in its performance and operations. We focus on what is best for the staff and students underpinned by clear values. We aim to be at the forefront of educational excellence to provide the best educational experience possible for the children in our care.
This is challenging in a climate of increasing accountability and diminishing resources. However, we believe that by staying true to our values, it is possible to lead this community effectively. After a school-wide consultation, we have identified ASPIRATION, COMMITMENT, and SUCCESS as the key drivers supporting the development of our pupils.
We believe that the curriculum is essential, and its sequencing will help our students progress. We emphasise knowledge-first teaching, memory recall, and responsive teaching.
