Responsibilities:

  • Carry out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional and cost-effective manner, maintaining documentation of all works carried out in line with Health and Safety and Quality procedures.
  • Work to a planned schedule of service and maintenance jobs at client premises.
  • Monitor van stock, ensuring sufficient supplies for day-to-day fleet maintenance.
  • Conduct inspections and monitor the safety of repaired and maintained trucks.
  • Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets and purchase requisition and parts paperwork within required timescales.
  • Take responsibility for all equipment and tooling (including vans, laptops and tablets), ensuring they are safe for the type of work being undertaken.
  • Work to strict planned schedules and deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a full UK Driving Licence.
  • Proficient in fault-finding and repair.
  • Educated, with the ability to achieve a grade C in English and Maths at GCSE.
  • Experience of Health & Safety requirements in a workshop setting.
  • Commitment to continuing personal and professional development.
  • Excellent organisational skills, resourceful and solution-driven.
  • High standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Clear communication skills – oral and written.
  • Consultation and negotiation skills.
  • Flexibility to cope with diverse needs of the post.
  • Highly motivated and resilient to work under pressure.

Essential Skills & Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of at least one of Mechanical, Electrical, or Hydraulics engineering.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training to excel within Crown Lift Trucks Ltd.

Desirable Skills:

  • Recent and relevant experience in forklift truck service (not essential).
  • Engineering qualification.

Employment Details:

  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday – 08:00am to 16:30pm with 30 minutes unpaid for lunch.
  • Company Vehicle: A company van and fuel card provided, with option for private use (subject to tax regulations).
  • Holidays: 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
  • Pension: Company pension plan.
