Crown Energy is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with a background in gas, electric and/or water infrastructure to join our team.

This is a hands-on commercial role combining business development, client relationship management and project coordination.

You’ll identify and secure new opportunities while managing utility infrastructure projects from initial enquiry and quotation through to delivery and completion.

Working across gas, electricity and water infrastructure, you’ll support clients with new connections, diversions and multi-utility requirements, acting as a key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.

You’ll work closely with developers, contractors, network operators, utility providers and internal teams to develop solutions that are commercially sound, technically accurate and delivered effectively.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities across gas, electric and water infrastructure
  • Developing a strong pipeline of new and existing client opportunities
  • Managing projects from initial enquiry and quotation through to completion
  • Understanding client requirements and coordinating appropriate utility infrastructure solutions
  • Liaising with developers, contractors, ICPs, DNOs, IDNOs, water authorities and other industry stakeholders
  • Preparing and managing quotations, project updates and client communications
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinating with internal teams to support safe, efficient and timely project delivery
  • Building and developing long-term client relationships
  • Monitoring market activity, industry developments and competitor activity to identify new opportunities
  • Maintaining accurate customer, project and sales pipeline information within our CRM system
  • Working towards agreed revenue, sales and business growth targets
  • What we’re looking for

We’re particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have

  • Proven experience within gas, electric and/or water infrastructure in a business development, commercial, account management or project management capacity
  • A strong understanding of utility infrastructure projects, including new connections, diversions, multi-utility projects and/or network coordination
  • Experience working with ICPs, DNOs, IDNOs, contractors, developers, water authorities or utility providers
  • The ability to understand technical project requirements and communicate them clearly to both commercial and operational stakeholders
  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and client relationship management skills
  • Excellent organisational and project coordination abilities
  • Confidence managing multiple opportunities and projects at different stages
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, CRM systems and project tracking tools
  • A proactive, commercially focused and results-driven approach
