We are seeking an experienced Communications Manager to lead communications activity for the commercial function, as part of the newly forming Government Commercial Agency.
Job Purpose and Summary: The successful candidate will build on the great work the team is already delivering to draw together multiple networks across the UK, delivering engaging events and an inclusive communication and engagement strategy to support the overall function strategy.
Working as part of a wider marketing and communications team function in the newly formed Government Commercial Agency (GCA), you will help strengthen how we communicate and engage with staff and stakeholders to illustrate our vision of creating value for the nation.
Key Accountabilities:
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, ensuring communications are coordinated, aligned and impactful.
- Produce high-quality written content that can be used across multiple channels, including articles, news stories, briefings, speeches and digital content, such as social media for a range of audiences.
- Support the delivery of virtual and in-person events throughout the year including regional conferences, the annual GCF Conference and Awards and All Staff Calls.
- Manage social and digital communication channels to include producing digital and social media strategies and managing the GCF LinkedIn account.
- Oversee GOV.UK publications and content to ensure they are relevant, well organised and up to date.
- Contribute to communications planning and help ensure activity is evaluated and learning is applied to future work.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues across the organisation on communications matters.
- Lead on the GCF Communications Knowledge Platform Transformation Programme and Digital Strategy.
- Support continuous improvement of the GCF networking platform to ensure content is relevant, up to date and engaging, looking for opportunities to develop and enhance the user experience for our stakeholders.
- Develop communication plans based on audience insight, using effective communication channels to engage audiences and maximise reach across our key GCF Staff Networks, identifying opportunities to increase membership and engagement.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience working in both internal and external communications roles.
- A track record of delivering communications activity that supports strategic objectives.
- Excellent copywriting and content creation skills, with the ability to write clearly and engagingly for different audiences and channels.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience building relationships at all levels using a collaborative approach and commitment to working effectively across teams.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, with experience using digital channels to reach and engage audiences.
