Role Purpose:
Crown Agents Bank (CAB) is hiring developers that are looking to engineer state-of-the-art financial systems. CAB is currently investing in technology growth and change driven by business growth. This is leading to new revenue streams and product capabilities including new integrations to support greater volume and changes to the platforming in AWS. Successful candidates will be working at the cutting edge of software and financial engineering. We look for people with excellent collaboration skills and up to date technical skills.
Role Responsibilities:
- Maintain a resilient, scalable, secure, and highly automated platform
- Ensure teams follow our platform engineering standards for code and design
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (GitHub Actions), using modern DevOps and GitOps practices
- Build and maintain AWS infrastructure using Terraform and scripting, with an automation-first approach
- Support application teams with releases, troubleshooting, and day-to-day platform support
- Continuously analyse and optimize system performance and cost, provide data, insights, and recommendations to inform capacity planning
- Support security best practices through hands-on vulnerability remediation and threat mitigation
- Enhance observability, logging, and operational tooling
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering field involving software programming or systems engineering (nice to have but not required)
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering
Experience Essential Criteria:
- Strong experience with design, build, and run scalable AWS infrastructure
- Apply strong DevOps practices, with a focus on automation, reliability, and continuous improvement
- Experience with container platforms and serverless technologies (Currently we use AWS Fargate and want to move Kubernetes in the future)
- Strong experience of building infrastructure as code with Terraform
- Strong experience of building and improving CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Support and troubleshoot Linux-based systems
- Use security tools such as SAST, DAST, and SCA
- Administer GitHub (repos, permissions, and workflows)
- Experience of writing scripts in Bash, Python, or TypeScript
- Communicate clearly and solve problems in a practical way
Desirable Criteria:
- Hold AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or Security)
- Experience with other cloud providers (Azure or GCP)
- Experience of AI systems, orchestration, or automated workflows
- Experience of cross-border FX and payments environments
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Bring a software engineering background (e.g., Java/Kotlin) and scripting skills (Bash, Python, TypeScript)
- Experience with Dynatrace, including building dashboards and/or alerting mechanisms using IaC
- Experience of Cloud migrations
- Experience with supporting and troubleshooting Windows-based systems
