Role Purpose
The role purposeisto support theentrepreneurial syndication and distribution of credit facilitiesoriginatedacross the Bank’s client franchise,helping to broadenthe Bank’s investor base across banks, development finance institutions, creditinsurersand wider institutional capital providers.Integrated within the Lending business unit, therole works closely with origination, structuring, coverage and control functions to shape fundable and distributable transactions,mobilisethird-party capital, improve portfolio and capital efficiency, and support the Bank’s growth strategy across trade finance, structured finance and commodity finance.
Role Responsibilities
Broaden and deepen the Bank’s distribution and investor network across banks, non-bank financial institutions, development finance institutions, credit insurers, private credit and private equity credit funds, fixed-income and emerging-market debt funds, asset managers, family offices, insurance investors and other institutional capital providers.
Develop andmaintaina detailed investor appetite and market-intelligence framework, ensuring likely funding sources areidentifiedearlyand that investor requirements inform transaction development, pricing,structuringand marketing.
Execute distribution strategies for trade-finance assets and facilities on a funded and unfunded basis, including the preparation and coordination of transaction summaries, teasers, information memoranda, investor presentations, dataroomsand other marketing materials.
Act as a subject-matter expert for the placement of structured finance and commodity finance risk, assessingdistributabilityand marketability across cash flows, collateral, borrowing-base mechanics, security arrangements, credit enhancement, repaymentsourcesand other relevant risk mitigants.
Work with Origination, Structuring and Coverage to convert opportunities into fundable,executableand investor-ready transactions, including commodity finance, structured credit, portfolio solutions, risk-sharingstructuresand other transactions designed tomobiliseinstitutional capital.
Identifyand structureappropriate combinationsof bank funding, institutional capital, developmentfinanceand credit insurance to support transactions requiring multiple sources of risk capacity.
Manage syndication opportunities end to end, including opportunity assessment, syndication strategy, client pitches, approval materials, syndicate formation, investor engagement, documentation, execution, financial close and any post-closing sell-down.
Coordinate lender and investor communications throughout syndication and distribution processes, ensuring consistent,accurateandtimelyinformation isprovidedand that confidentiality, due diligence, pricing,allocationand closing processes are managed effectively.
Collaborate with Coverage, Product, Credit, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Operations,Financeand other stakeholders toidentifyopportunities early, support cross-selling, capture client flows and ensure transactions meet the Bank’s credit, legal, regulatory,operationaland commercialobjectives.
Monitor market developments across syndicated lending, private credit, structured finance, commodity finance, creditinsuranceand emerging-market fixed income,identifyingtrends that may affect investor appetite,pricingor transaction structures.
Represent the Bank with investors, clients and market participants at meetings,conferencesand external forums, including acting as a public speaker,panellistor Bank representative whenrequiredand where significant travel may be necessary.
Qualifications
Qualification
Relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent experience in banking, finance, capital markets, credit, structured finance, tradefinanceora relateddiscipline.
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; fluency in one or moreadditionallanguages is desirable.
Experience
Minimum five years’ relevant experience in syndications, distribution, structured finance, commodity finance, private credit placement, emerging-marketcreditor a closely related role, preferably with direct emerging-marketsexposure.
Demonstrabletrack recordof distributing or placing trade finance, structured finance and commodity finance risk across bank, insurance, developmentfinanceand institutional investor channels.
Established access to buy-side investors and alternative capital providers, including private credit funds, asset managers, specialist trade and commodity funds, familyofficesand insurance investors.
Strong technical knowledge of trade‑finance products, primary loan syndication, funded and unfunded participations, assignments, secondary loan sales, credit insurance and banking operations.
Strong understanding of credit risk, transaction structuring, risk allocation, pricing, investorrequirementsand the full execution cycle from market sounding through to documentation, allocation and closing.
Able to evaluate complex emerging‑market transactions and translate them into clear, credible investor propositions.
Entrepreneurial, commerciallyfocusedand proactive, with strong relationship-building, communication,presentationand stakeholder‑management skills.
Highlyorganisedand accountable, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams under pressure and within tight deadlines.
Desirable experience includes local‑currency emerging‑market investment, portfolio or structured credit distribution, relationships with DFIs, MDBs, ECAs, sovereign or specialist investors, and development of new investor channels or distribution capabilities.
