Working alongside an existing team of credit risk colleagues and reporting to the Head of Credit Risk, your role is to assist the Head of Credit Risk maintain an effective end‑to‑end Credit Risk Management function for Crown Agents Bank (CAB or the Bank). You will primarily be responsible for assessing and continuously monitoring the creditworthiness of the Bank’s borrowers and counterparties, ensuring that all credit activities are undertaken within approved risk appetite and tolerance levels.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of credit applications based on high‑quality risk assessments to enable approving authorities to make informed credit decisions for new and existing clients, mainly FIS, NBFIs, Central Banks, IDOs, NGOs/Charities and corporates.
  • Assist in the analysis, assessment and review of key emerging market and frontier countries that are core to CAB's business.
  • Assist with the monitoring and reporting of credit exposures and emerging risks in line with internal policies and risk appetite.
  • Assist in ensuring the effective administration and monitoring of the credit portfolio, including monitoring of credit limits and implementing adequate controls to minimize credit losses.
  • Participate in various credit projects and initiatives, including preparation of periodic and ad hoc reports, and addressing audit queries in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the enhancement of policies, procedures and related tools to improve credit processes and controls and achieve operational efficiency.
  • Assist with any other duties as assigned by the Head of Credit Risk.
Qualifications
  • At least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a commercial/numerical subject and/or relevant professional qualification.
Experience / Skills
  • Relevant and demonstrable experience gained either in a financial services, banking, rating agency, treasury or accounting environment, ideally in an emerging/frontier market context.
  • Strong credit analytical ability, focused on the assessment and calibration of credit risk.
  • Financial modelling skills would also be desirable.
  • Knowledge of banking products from a credit risk perspective including payments, treasury/FX products (including derivatives), and trade finance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to work across cultures and within a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and plan to ensure that tasks are completed within agreed timeframes and urgent tasks/assignments are prioritised.
  • French/Portuguese/Spanish language skills desirable.
