Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead our Technology Risk Consulting practice.

This is a strategic position for an individual who can build and grow a high-performing technology consulting team, drive business development, and deliver exceptional client outcomes in the areas of technology risk, resilience, and operational excellence.

The successful candidate will be a seasoned technology risk professional with extensive experience supporting IT functions through large-scale technology transformations such as cloud migration and application architecture modernisation.

You will have a strong background in industry or consulting, with hands‑on experience across IT Risk, Assurance, and Advisory roles.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality consulting services, typically demonstrating expertise in technology transformation assurance and advisory work in the following areas:

  • Technology Strategy & Operating Model
  • assess technology roadmaps and translate them into actionable plans to manage delivery and transformation risks.
  • Cloud Transformation
  • understand cloud architecture design and perform independent risk reviews of cloud migration programs.
  • IT Operations
  • review IT processes and operational improvements using industry frameworks (ITIL, TOGAF, COBIT, etc.).
  • IT Security and Resilience
  • advise on improving technology security risk and resilience to support broader business operations.
  • IT Governance and Risk Management
  • design and implement technology governance and risk management plans, including risk remediation projects, IT assurance, and independent IT attestation services.

Experience in UK Financial Services sector is desired working within the broader Insurance and mid‑tier financial services organisations.

  • Key Experience and Attributes
  • Technical skills
  • Proven experience in technology risk consulting either within a professional services environment or industry.
  • Strong understanding of IT operations, resilience frameworks, and risk management.
  • Led IT Architecture governance and operations reviews using TOGAF framework
  • Extensive experience of undertaking IT risk and control reviews, cloud security reviews.
  • Led and executed independent IT attestation services – ISAE3402, SOC2, SWIFT CSP audits and PCI DSS audits
  • Experience in review of Cloud Platforms – Azure, AWS and GCP. Familiar with Cloud Architecture, Management Groups, Privileged Access, Fin Ops and Cloud resilience
  • Reviewing Dev Ops lifecycle
  • Review of Data Governance and AI in data lakehouse context
  • Independent assessment of technology transformation projects – PMO experience, governance and operating model assessment
  • Proposition development
  • Make a significant contribution to the development and evolution of technology trends, using your knowledge and expertise to act as a subject matter expert and own the development of relevant propositions.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of other propositions and how they meet the needs of our clients.
  • Detailed understanding of and ability to articulate what differentiates Crowe in the consulting market.
  • Business development and marketing
  • Network, engage and manage relationships effectively with management at clients and potential clients to generate leads.
  • Own, manage and deliver client proposals and business development activities.
  • Full ownership and delivery of high-quality marketing and brand development initiatives, including thought leadership.
  • Soft skills – client focus
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience in building and scaling teams.
  • Experience of or an aptitude for consulting, either gained from working in another professional services consulting firm or in an ‘internal consulting’ role within financial services.

This could include experiences at a UK regulator.

  • Strong business acumen, with an ability to see the big picture and to think from a client perspective about how to develop innovative, practical and pragmatic solutions that can be executed to make a real difference.
