We seek a professional and driven candidate to join as an Executive in our new Financial Reporting team, which aims to elevate our accounting and reporting services for audit clients to the next level. This role offers a unique opportunity to add immediate value and make a positive difference.
The primary responsibility of this role will be to take full ownership of providing a best-in-class accounts preparation & financial reporting service for a diverse portfolio of clients, including multinational groups, PLCs, listed companies, owner-managed businesses, charities, large academies, and schools.
As a key member of one of the largest Audit teams in the Thames Valley region, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of statutory accounts, financial reports, consolidations, and disclosures under various standards (IFRS, UK GAAP, Charities SORP, FRS 102, etc.).
- Supporting the Audit team with client queries regarding accounts.
- Assisting in the finalization of statutory financial statements as part of the audit process.
- Liaising with departments to meet client requirements and deliver high-quality service.
- Acting as a key contact to identify client-specific judgment areas, provisions, and risks.
- Understanding regulatory requirements and maintaining CPD on relevant standards updates.
- Providing general and ad-hoc support to the Audit team.
Suitable skills, knowledge, and experience include:
- Experience in preparing full sets of statutory accounts in a professional environment, familiar with standards like IFRS, UK GAAP, Charity SORP, FRS 102.
- Experience with group accounts, consolidations, and accounting for acquisitions/disposals and minority interests.
- Experience in preparing cash flow statements within statutory accounts.
- Proficiency with accounts production software (e.g., CaseWare).
- Audit experience is advantageous but not essential.
- A commitment to professional development and delivering excellent client service.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills for engaging with clients and colleagues.
- An accountancy qualification (such as ACA or ACCA) is preferred.
