Overview
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Assistant Manager to join our growing Financial Reporting team in a Top 15 UK accountancy firm. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile accounting projects, lead client relationships, and work with a team of talented professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex accounting assignments such as IFRS transition projects, acquisition accounting, group reorganisations and group consolidations.
- Prepare and review financial statements compliant with FRS 102, FRS 101, and IFRS.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing technical insights and identifying opportunities for additional services.
- Supervise, coach, and train junior team members on technical areas.
- Ensure all client reporting deadlines are met with high standards of accuracy and compliance.
- Provide expert advice on IFRS and UK GAAP accounting treatments.
- Assist in preparing technical accounting papers and memos for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Deliver training and updates on new accounting standards and developments.
- Contribute to thought leadership and internal technical resources.
Requirements
- Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA or equivalent) with 1–2 years post-qualified experience.
- Trained at a Top 20 UK accounting firm.
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102, FRS 101 and IFRS.
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients requiring technical support and supervising staff.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using accounting software such as CaseWare and IRIS.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with clients.
- Commercial awareness and ability to apply technical knowledge pragmatically.
