As Business Services Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in managing a diverse client portfolio, overseeing the preparation and review of accounts and financial statements, and providing commercial, value-added advice that helps clients achieve their goals. You will work closely with senior management and play an active part in the development and mentoring of junior team members, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing and reviewing a portfolio of business services clients, including the preparation of year-end accounts and financial statements.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, delivering proactive and commercial advice to support their business needs.
  • Reviewing the work of junior and semi-senior team members, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their development.
  • Working closely with Partners and senior management to identify opportunities for business development and client growth.
  • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, in line with relevant accounting standards and internal deadlines.
Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience, with a strong background in business services within an accountancy practice.
  • Must have previous experience working within a UK Practice environment.
  • Proven experience at a senior or supervisory level, with the ability to manage a portfolio of clients independently.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and relevant accounting standards, with excellent attention to detail.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
