The private client and professional practices team provides tax compliance and advisory services to a range of partnerships and LLPs, including the partners of these firms. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the compliance of partner tax returns, helping them to comply with taxation filing and payment obligations, and working with them to manage their taxation affairs. You will work closely with the tax partners delivering special and project-based work, overseeing larger or more complex compliance work with the portfolio of existing clients, and have the opportunity to be involved in business development initiatives and generate new work.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, execution, and finalisation of technical projects for partner or manager review, providing solutions and seeking input.
  • Conduct technical research to support senior management, including drafting reports and correspondence to clients and HMRC.
  • Highlight issues identified during research and provide potential solutions.
  • Act as a role model for junior team members and provide on-the-job coaching.
  • Take primary responsibility for monitoring progress against budget on projects and resolve deviations.
  • Prepare timely WIP analysis and draft fees.
  • Participate in service line, office, and firm-wide activities such as ongoing training, conferences, and team events.

Management Responsibilities

  • Act as a line manager for junior and training members.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring to junior members.
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to work and team success, with a positive attitude and initiative to improve processes.
  • Treat colleagues with fairness and respect, creating opportunities for everyone to contribute and succeed.
  • Provide and receive regular constructive feedback, continually developing skills.
  • Involve in training and coaching of junior members across all aspects of tax compliance and advisory work.
  • Participate in office, service line and firm-wide activities.
