Role

We have a vacancy for a Corporate Tax Manager to work in our Tax team. This is a permanent role with opportunities for progression. Whilst the preference is for full‑time, we would also welcome applicants for a four‑day week. The clients will be a mix of large or listed companies, multi‑national entities, family‑owned businesses and not‑for‑profit bodies. This role offers variety and interesting work for an Assistant Manager looking for a step up or a manager seeking a new exciting challenge with scope for progression.

You will work closely with the tax partner and directors, overseeing larger or more complex compliance work with a portfolio of existing clients, ranging from owner‑managed companies to quoted groups and delivering UK and cross‑border special and project‑based work. You will also be involved in business development initiatives and working with the team to generate new work.

Role Requirements

  • CTA or equivalent qualification essential.
  • Significant corporate tax and tax accounting experience on a range of advisory and compliance projects.
  • A passion for client service.

Your Direct Client Responsibilities

  • Oversee corporation tax compliance work for the Manchester office.
  • Handle large and complex compliance clients.
  • Develop relationships with clients and contacts.
  • Identify opportunities to take additional services to clients and contacts, including corporate taxes, VAT, personal taxes, payroll taxes, corporate finance support, etc.
  • Act with integrity and always consider the firm’s best interests.
  • Understand the different types of risk and apply the firm’s risk management policies.
  • Consider and manage reputational, operational and credit risk in all interactions with clients.
  • Show a sense of urgency and an understanding of how workload impacts the firm’s ability to serve clients.
  • Apply a solution‑based approach to problem solving and identify areas for client business process improvement.
  • Take primary responsibility for financial performance on client and project work.
