About the Role:
You will be leading two teams, the CMS team and the Reports team, which are both in the UI Framework Engineering org.
The CMS Team builds and maintains our systems for delivering content to our console product - both the existing console, plus our nextgen console. This is primarily product documentation and localised content. You will be liaising with our internal stakeholders - mainly our technical writers - as well as engaging with end‑user customers for research and feedback purposes.
The Reports Team is building and owns the exciting and high profile reports module within our next gen console. This module allows the WYSIWYG authoring of security and analyst reports, integrating custom content and assets with dynamic widgets from our console, in a custom-built web-based DTP application.
The teams are within UI Framework Engineering, which is at the heart of the architecture and build of the front end systems powering our platforms. At CrowdStrike, we believe all our Engineering Managers should have a strong coding background. You should be comfortable reviewing code, and you will be expected to understand and contribute to architectural discussions.
As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be responsible for the workload management, wellbeing, and professional growth of the engineers on your team. You’ll help foster an open and collaborative environment and support systems to help your team succeed.
What You’ll Do:
Lead a team of engineers building front end systems using UI frameworks, TypeScript packages, and web components
Manage team workload, project resourcing & coordination in a fast‑paced, highly distributed environment
Support wellbeing of team members - providing support & guidance focused primarily on resourcing, progress, and soft skills
Gather feedback from others, provide coaching as needed & in collaboration with senior engineers to advance team member skill sets
Build a team - leading and coordinating recruitment process from initial contact to offer
Maintain visibility into the product roadmap and share that information back to other managers and team members
Participate in team activities, such as roadmap planning, to prioritize projects on the roadmap based on availability of humans to do the work and business objectives that need to be met
Have fun solving difficult problems
What You’ll Need:
Strong engineering track‑record focusing on front‑end development & technologies (JS/TS/CSS/HTML) and modern frameworks and approaches
Experience with front end frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue and Ember
Experience with Accessibility (a11y) best practices, tools and techniques such as compatibility with keyboard navigation, screen readers and WCAG guidelines
Experience with internationalization (i18n)
A good understanding of Cloud Technologies and end to end delivery of data intensive SaaS products
Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats
Comfortable providing presentations and recommendations to stakeholder management
Being an advocate UX consistency, accessibility and empathy for the end user
Experience mentoring & supporting people and teams with empathy & professionalism
Experience working with Product Managers and UX Designers for requirement analysis and driving the engineering team to come up with solution approach and design for delivering the requirements
Experience planning, tracking, delivering and managing multiple projects
Experience in remote‑first environments and global teams
Bonus Points:
Experience with documentation systems, particularly docs‑as‑code systems
Experience with Markdown workflows using tools such as Remarkjs
Experience with localisation workflows
Experience with developer relations and developer portals
