We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager, with experience of the live events and/or outside broadcast sectors to lead our growth in supplying drone services to live events and broadcast sectors. Crowded Space Drones supply specialised drone services around the world with a key focus on major events, sporting tournaments and live broadcasts. We hold unique permissions such as flying safely over crowds and work on the worlds biggest sporting leagues, tournaments, television broadcasts and major events. Our capability has recently expanded with additional offices around the world such as Melbourne in Australia and the United States of America. Our EU based office also helps ensure we operate free from trade barriers and with a lower cost base.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop our global portfolio of services to major events, sports tournaments and broadcasts. The successful candidate will need to possess a strong understanding how the sports leagues, major events and outside broadcasts procure such services. The role can be based from any of our UK offices (including Belfast, Bicester or Sheffield) and will involve global travel, especially through Europe, as we expand our range of clients and volume of work.

Starting salary is from £35-40,000 with strong commission structure and performance bonuses.

Key job duties include:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the major events and outside broadcast markets, with a particular focus on European work.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote the company's services and establish new contacts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and the suppliers they use to deliver their broadcasts, events and tournaments.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations tailored to client needs, showcasing our capabilities.
  • Collaborate with our marketing support team to produce branded content to support sales activities.
  • Utilise CRM software to track leads, manage pipelines, and analyse sales data for informed decision-making.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to adapt strategies accordingly.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in business development within the live events or broadcast industries is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM software for managing customer relationships effectively.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strategic partnerships and close deals successfully.
  • Organised with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and overcoming challenges within this sector.
  • Demonstrate ability to prepare and deliver engaging presentations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
