Reporting to the T&V Team Leader, this role involves collaborating with a broad technical team to assure the functionality, integrity, and robustness of all new and existing gas detection products.
- Develop and conduct functional and performance testing of new and existing gas detection products to ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and internal quality requirements.
- Take accountability for reporting on the progress of product testing by analysing test data, producing clear reports that document any non-conformances, issues, or risks, and presenting key findings in project meetings.
- Collaborate with development, production, and quality teams to review test data, support root cause and analysis.
- Support the design, setup and maintenance of test rigs whilst continuously looking for innovation opportunities to drive continuous improvement in testing & verification.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe test environment and lab space, ensuring test equipment is properly maintained and calibrated, keeping accurate records of test tools, calibration dates, and maintenance schedules.
Your skills & experience
- This position involves working with colleagues at all levels across teams so you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to drive, discuss and report technical information clearly.
- Level 3 BTEC, HNC, or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation, or related technical discipline.
- Basic understanding of electronics or instrumentation (e.g., voltage, current, sensor types).
- Comfortable using tools such as multi-meters, gas flow regulators, and test fixtures.
- Ability to create and follow written test procedures and complete documentation accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- A proven track record of successful written & verbal communication and presentations.
- Flexible and a can-do attitude towards work with personal drive to learn new skills.
- Ability to work with own initiative and have an innovative approach to problem solving.
- Ability to use standard MS software packages as well as bespoke test software.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with gas detection principles or sensor technologies.
- Knowledge of basic health & safety practices, especially around hazardous gases.
- Exposure to calibration procedures or working in a lab/test environment.
- Experience or familiarity with LabVIEW or other test automation software.
- Experience using AI-powered tools for data analysis, diagnostics, or test automation.
