Position
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated Surveyor to join our professional commercial team in our South Thames region. Reporting to the Commercial Director, your primary responsibility will be to manage the financial administration of the procurement and payment of subcontractors and other similar bodies operating on Company developments, ensuring the Company achieves value for money and provide regular updates on the financial performance of each site
Some of the Key responsibilities:
- Establish a Subcontractor Register for each site under their control, prepare for enquiries to be sent to tenderers, selected in conjunction with the Building Manager and Project/Site Manager, and ensures quotations are received such that a proper comparison of the quotations can be prepared. In compiling such comparisons resolve all queries with the subcontractors to enable an accurate recommendation to be made to the Building Ma
- nager.Arrange and attend pre-order meetings, record minutes and follows up any action points. Ensure Pre-Order Questionnaire is received back fully complete before holding pre-order me
- eting.Prepare a formal order which is to be placed with the successful subcontractor no later than commencement of the works. Notify all unsuccessful subcontra
- ctors.Develop positive relationships with all subcontractors and suppliers seeking continuous improvements in qu
- ality.Assist with all notices, claims, etc. relating to either subcontractors or other clients. Issue written notifications to subcontractors where payments are being withheld, or counter charges are being raised.
Key requirements:
- General construction or surveying degree.
- Approximately 3 years+ relevant work experience.
- Excellent IT skills (good working knowledge of MS excel and spreadsheets)Excellent numerical skills and an understanding of financial administration.
