As Technical Search Director Contractor, you will steer the Web Experience and Technical SEO strategy for client websites, aligning audits with development across traditional and AI-driven search.

Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end technical site audits to identify blockers and opportunities for speed, usability, and indexing
- Architect strategies for crawlability, accessibility, and content extraction across traditional search, AI summaries, and chat experiences
- Oversee structured data, semantic HTML, site architecture, and rendering optimization for machine understanding
- Drive front‑end performance and Core Web Vitals using tools like Chrome Dev Tools, Lighthouse, Page Speed Insights, and Web Page Test
- Translate audit findings into developer‑ready tickets (e. g., Jira, Azure Dev Ops) and align with client engineering teams
- Collaborate with developers, frontend engineers, and architects to set standards (W3C, WCAG) and validate fixes
- Lead technically heavy site migrations, platform rebuilds, and international rollouts while protecting traffic
- Formulate technical roadmaps and manage resource allocation for key accounts
- Evolve the Web Experience methodology, lead Test & Learn initiatives, and produce case studies/whitepapers
- Support sales with high‑impact audits and solution design, and oversee on‑demand network experts for quality control
- Mentor and upskill Web Experience Managers and the wider Organic Performance team
