Crouch Waterfall specialise in core areas of Bridges, Rail, Infrastructure, Buildings and Geotechnical Services, designing and co-ordinating projects from conception to completion. We are looking for a Civil & Structural Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in Warrington. Reporting to the Associate leading the discipline, the Civil & Structural Engineer will be responsible for the design and assessment of large-scale structures, including bridges, structural steelwork, reinforced concrete, and temporary works, while developing their technical capability on challenging and nationally significant programmes. This role offers exposure to both high-value infrastructure projects and smaller schemes, providing variety and the opportunity to build capability across a broad range of sectors as part of the wider Vulcain Group.
Some of the main responsibilities of the Civil & Structural Engineer will include:
- Support senior engineers in the technical delivery of large-scale civil & structural design projects, including bridges, structural steelwork, reinforced concrete, and temporary works.
- Undertake structural design and analysis for major infrastructure schemes, including rail structures, inspections, nuclear temporary works, and selected building projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, and design deliverables using both hand methods and appropriate software under the guidance of senior colleagues.
- Carry out site inspections, surveys, and assessments of existing structures, contributing to clear and accurate technical reports.
- Collaborate with the wider project team to manage workloads, meet programme deadlines, and ensure high-quality outputs.
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders as required to clarify project scope and support ongoing project delivery.

Preferred Profile:
- Proven experience in the design of large-scale structures such as bridges, structural steelwork, and reinforced concrete.
- Background in infrastructure, major projects, or heavy industry, with exposure to the Rail sector beneficial.
- Proficient in Tedds for structural calculations, with experience using finite element analysis software such as Robot, Midas, or similar tools.
- Experience contributing to inspections, assessments, and analysis of existing structures, as well as new-build design would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with temporary works is desirable.
- Comfortable operating in client-facing environments, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ideally working towards professional accreditation (ICE or IStructE), with support available to progress toward Chartered status.
- Reside locally to Warrington or be prepared to relocate, as this permanent role does not include travel expense coverage.
