Day in the Life of a Dosing Nurse
- Follow policies and procedures to correctly identify patients and administer medication per the medical provider's orders.
- Dispense daily and take‑home medication at the dosing window.
- Coordinate care with clinical and medical staff for continuity of patient care.
- Maintain and complete accurate patient documentation including assessing for impairment.
- Ensuring medication count is accurate and completed daily.
- Follow compliance policies and procedures around documentation practices and expectations.
- Participate in nursing team meetings and cross‑treatment meetings.
- Connecting with patients, offering true empathy and a listening ear to those struggling.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Licensed Practical or Registered Nurse License issued in the state in which they will be practicing or a multi‑state compact status license. License should be in good standing, unencumbered, and active. If applicable, disciplinary actions documented on any license will be reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis.
- 3+ years of nursing experience is preferred.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, experience drawing blood on collapsed veins is a plus.
- Active and current CPR or BLS certification is preferred.
Schedule
Monday-Friday; 4:30am-12:30pm
Position Benefits
- More 1 on 1 care
- Consistent schedule. Early in time and out time, no 12‑hour shifts nor is there a 2nd or 3rd shift. You will also never be on call.
- Small nursing team. Depending on patient census, teams can range anywhere from 2-12.
