Join Crossroads Care Charity as a part-time Business Support Officer and play a key role in supporting unpaid carers across Sheffield through high-quality administration, reception, and customer support. We require a Business Support Officer to join our Sheffield office. The primary purpose of this role is to deliver high quality administrative support and reception cover to Sheffield Carers Service, which is part of Crossroads Care Charity. This includes being the first point of contact for carers accessing the service, providing the vital initial telephone response for calls to the advice line, and contributing to the key work of the service.

Key responsibilities

  • Reception Service
    • Work as part of a small team to cover reception needs for the service
    • Provide a vital initial telephone response to the carer advice line
    • Support and engage carers to use the service
    • Ensure calls are dealt with professionally and efficiently
    • Act as first point of contact for all enquiries to the service
  • Administrative
    • Work as part of a small team to provide administrative support across the service
    • Assess and process referrals in an accurate and timely manner
    • Manage multiple inboxes and respond to email enquiries from carers and professionals
    • Collate and send information as required by the Carer Advisor team and other colleagues
    • Assist with data extraction and collating as required
    • Process incoming and outgoing mail
    • Contribute to and provide administrative support for Carer Activities and projects as required
    • Post out information to carers
    • Provide support to Senior Managers as required
  • General
    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, timely records for carers in accordance with Crossroads standards
    • Adhere to Crossroads policies, protocols, and procedures, including those related to GDPR, Health and Safety, confidentiality, record keeping, and safeguarding
    • Work flexibly to support carers and the needs of the service
    • Undertake, by agreement, any other duties that are reasonable and appropriate to the business of Crossroads and Sheffield Carers Service
  • Personal Training and Development
    • To participate in appropriate training as required
    • To participate in regular supervisions and performance reviews
  • Promoting Crossroads Care
    • To represent and positively promote Crossroads Care organisation locally as required.
