Job Description

As a Support Worker within our community and supported living services, you will support adults to live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes. You will work closely with individuals to understand their goals, build trust and provide practical and emotional support tailored to their needs.

What your role will involve

* Providing person-centred support in line with individual support plans
* Working 1:1 or as part of a small team to meet agreed outcomes
* Supporting daily living tasks including household management
* Providing personal care sensitively where it is part of the care plan
* Supporting individuals to access their communities, relationships and local services
* Promoting informed choice, independence and positive risk-taking
* Supporting individuals who experience stress or distressed behaviour
* Administering medication in line with policy and guidance
* Supporting people with finances where required, maintaining accurate records
* Completing clear and accurate documentation in line with SSSC and Care Inspectorate requirements

About you

You are compassionate, reliable and committed to supporting adults to live fulfilling lives. Experience in care or support is welcome but not essential, as training will be provided. You will have basic IT skills and either hold an SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Social Care, or be willing to work towards a relevant qualification. You will be willing to join the PVG Scheme and register with the SSSC, and work in a way that respects the Christian ethos of CrossReach.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
