Job Description

Nestled near Stirling, Millmuir Farm House has been a welcoming home for young people since 2007. With just two residents, we offer a calm, therapeutic space where young people can settle, feel safe, and plan for the future. From building confidence to developing practical life skills, our team work closely with each young person to support them as they prepare for the next stage of their journey.

There’s something special about being part of a team that helps children feel safe, settled and hopeful again. That’s what this role is all about.

As Lead Practitioner, you’ll be a steady presence in the lives of children and young people living in our residential service. You’ll help guide a dedicated team, working together to offer care that’s consistent, thoughtful and filled with compassion. No two days will look the same, but every day will matter.

You’ll play a key role in shaping a warm, supportive environment where young people can grow in confidence, explore who they are and feel proud of how far they’ve come.

What the role involves:

  • Supporting and leading your team with kindness and clarity
  • Building trusting relationships with young people, helping them feel safe, heard and respected
  • Working alongside families, schools and professionals to make sure support is joined-up and effective
  • Helping to plan care that’s thoughtful and tailored to each individual’s needs and strengths
  • Taking part in daily routines, whether that’s cooking tea, going for a walk or lending a hand with homework
  • Contributing to a nurturing home environment where young people can enjoy the ordinary things in life

What we’re looking for:

  • Someone with a naturally calm, supportive approach and a strong sense of empathy
  • An understanding of trauma, attachment and therapeutic ways of working (or a willingness to learn)
  • Confidence in leading a team and managing care plans, risk assessments and reports
  • HNC and SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (or working towards them)
  • A full manual UK driving licence

What we offer in return:

  • The chance to make a real and lasting difference in children’s lives
  • A values-led workplace where relationships come first
  • Ongoing training and reflective support, including access to DDP Level 1
  • A team who support one another and genuinely care about what they do

If you believe in second chances, value connection and want to help children rebuild trust in the world around them, you’ll feel right at home here.

We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that support others.

Firstly, there is access to a wide range of exclusive retail and leisure discounts through our rewards scheme and the Blue Light Discount card. We also ensure that your future and that of your loved ones is secured with a generous contributory pension plan and death in service benefit. Balancing work and family are made easier with our suite of enhanced family friendly policies and your health and wellness are prioritised with access to our health cash plan, giving you cash back for a wide range of health treatments. We even have access to a care concierge service to assist you with life's challenges, providing invaluable support when you need it most.

But we also know that your training and development is important to you, and as well as a contribution to your professional membership fees, we are keen to support you in making the right steps to learn, grow and develop in ways that are right for you.
