Job Description

As a Senior Care Worker, you will play a key role in supporting people to live well, safely and with dignity. You will lead by example on shift, support and mentor colleagues, and help ensure high standards of person-centred care are delivered consistently.

Key responsibilities

* Lead and support care staff on shift, acting as a point of contact for guidance and decision-making
* Deliver high-quality personal care and support in line with individual care plans
* Administer medication and oversee medication management in line with policy
* Promote dignity, choice and independence at all times
* Support new staff through induction and ongoing development
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews
* Work collaboratively with managers, families and external professionals

About you
You will be an experienced care professional with a calm, supportive leadership style and a genuine commitment to person-centred care. You will hold an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and be confident supporting others on shift, including with medication, documentation and best practice. You will be reliable, compassionate and comfortable taking responsibility, particularly during busy or challenging periods.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
