We are looking for a dedicated and resourceful Handyperson to join our team on a relief basis. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring our building is safe, well-maintained, and fully operational. Your work will help create a comfortable and welcoming environment for the people who use our services, as well as for staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Assist with moving furniture and equipment in line with health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records relating to property maintenance and repairs.
- Escort and support contractors and tradespeople while they are working on-site.
- Identify and report maintenance issues, recommending any work that may be required.
- Participate in mandatory health and safety training and comply with organisational policies and procedures.
- Support the overall upkeep and presentation of the premises.
About You
The ideal candidate will be practical, reliable, and proactive, with a positive approach to problem-solving. You will be comfortable working independently and communicating effectively with colleagues, contractors, and management. You should have:
- Basic maintenance, DIY, or repair skills.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Basic computer skills to complete mandatory e-learning and record-keeping requirements.
- An understanding of the importance of health and safety in the workplace.
- Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, or similar role would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
