At CrossReach, we’re looking for relief Care Workers who lead with heart. The kind of people who understand that connection is just as important as care plans, and that sometimes the quiet moments speak loudest. As a relief worker, you will be able to work around your other commitments, whilst still having the opportunity to make a difference, with shifts available across the day and week.
A day in your life might include:
- Supporting someone to enjoy their garden again, even if it’s just five peaceful minutes
- Speaking with a GP or nurse when someone’s feeling off, and making sure they feel heard
- Helping keep a care plan personal, not just clinical
- Supporting someone to attend worship or spiritual reflection if that’s meaningful to them
You’ll be:
- Calm, thoughtful and ready to offer reassurance when it’s needed most
- Open to learning, with support to complete your SVQ Level 3
- Respectful of faith, whether it’s your own, someone else’s or none at all
- A reliable team player who is happy to help out wherever needed
You’ll get:
- Full training and guidance, with support every step of the way
- Opportunities to grow your skills and progress in your career
- The deep satisfaction of knowing that what you do, day in and day out, really matters
You don’t need to meet every single requirement to apply, but if you’ve got the heart for care and the willingness to learn, we’ll be with you every step of the way.

We have a legal obligation to ensure that we do not employ any worker who has not been granted the relevant permission to work in the UK. This permission is without exception granted by UK Visas and Immigrations. We are required to check the entitlement to work in the UK of all prospective employees, regardless of nationality or job category.
We are committed to ensuring that we attract, retain, and develop the very best people to build a diverse and talented team and we recognise that every individual’s unique background, experience and ability contributes to our success. We aim to create an inclusive and inspiring environment where individuals feel valued and respected and where people can belong, thrive and be their very best, whoever they are.
