Whether you’re returning to work, exploring a new direction or simply want hours that fit around your life, this could be just what you’re looking for. At CrossReach, we know it’s often the small things that matter most. A calm presence, a reassuring smile, a kind word at the right moment. As a Relief Care Worker, you’ll help people feel safe, respected and cared for.
In This Role, You’ll
- Support daily routines such as washing, dressing, eating and moving safely
- Build warm, respectful relationships based on what matters to each person
- Help create a calm, welcoming environment where people feel at home
- Work with a supportive team to meet emotional, physical and social needs
No previous care experience? That’s fine. We provide full training and support.
What matters most is your approach. We’re looking for people who are flexible enough to cover weekends, bank holidays and sickness, while being honest, reliable and approachable. You’ll be open to learning and trying new things, with a genuine passion for supporting people with dignity and respect. Ideally, you’ll already hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare, but if not, we’ll support you to work towards it.
A role that fits around you
As part of our relief team, you choose shifts that suit your lifestyle. Whether evenings, weekends or occasional cover, we’ll work with what works for you. We welcome applications from people of all ages and backgrounds, including those with care experience and anyone exploring a new career.
Checks and registration
You’ll need to join the PVG scheme and register with the SSSC. If this is new to you, we’ll guide you through every step.
Not sure if you tick every box? That’s okay. If this sounds like the kind of role you’d enjoy, we’d love to hear from you.
