As a Children’s Worker, you will be part of a supportive team delivering high-quality short break care for children and young people with complex support needs. You will provide care in both a residential setting and the local community, creating a safe, inclusive and well-structured environment where children feel supported and valued.
You will support children with day-to-day routines, personal care and health needs in line with individual care plans, while planning and delivering activities that reflect their interests and aspirations. You will work in line with CrossReach and National Care Standards, contribute to care planning and reviews, and work closely with colleagues, families and professionals to ensure consistent, person-centred support.
What you will do:
- Provide safe, compassionate care and support, including personal care and medication support
- Plan and deliver activities that meet individual needs and promote wellbeing
- Act as a Keyworker and contribute to care plans, reviews and behaviour support strategies
- Support children to access community activities and promote social inclusion
- Maintain accurate records and work collaboratively as part of a team
What we are looking for:
You will hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) and HNC qualification, or be committed to gaining these, with experience working with children or within a caring role. You will bring a calm, compassionate and reflective approach, an understanding of additional needs and child development, and the ability to work within and uphold CrossReach’s Christian ethos. You will also be willing to register with SSSC, join the PVG Scheme and meet all professional requirements for the role.
