As a Cook in our care home, you'll prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals that help residents stay healthy, independent and connected. You'll play an important role in creating a welcoming environment where residents can enjoy good food and good company. Every meal you prepare will contribute to the comfort and wellbeing of the people we support.
What you will do:
- Prepare nutritious meals, snacks and refreshments
- Support menu planning and meal preparation
- Cater for a variety of dietary and nutritional needs
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and health and safety standards
- Monitor food stocks and minimise waste
- Ensure meals are presented to a high standard
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide an excellent dining experience
About you:
You will have previous experience in a catering, hospitality or kitchen role and be confident preparing meals for groups of people. You'll understand the importance of nutrition, food safety and delivering excellent customer service. A Food Hygiene qualification is essential. A professional catering qualification would be advantageous. You'll take pride in preparing meals that people genuinely enjoy and understand the positive impact good food can have on wellbeing.
