We’re looking for kind, capable and dependable Support Workers to join our team, supporting adults with learning disabilities. This is a practical, people-focused role where no two days are the same. You’ll be helping people build independence, learn new skills and feel safe and supported in their home and community.
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing person-centred care and emotional support
- Assisting with daily routines including personal care, cooking, cleaning and budgeting
- Supporting people to access work, hobbies and community life
- Acting as a key worker, writing support plans and attending reviews
- Working independently and using initiative when needed
- Taking part in sleepovers as part of a 24-hour support rota
What we’re looking for:
A calm, patient and caring approach
Some experience in social care or support work is helpful
Good communication skills and confidence working alone or as part of a team
Ability to build trust and supportive relationships
Basic computer skills for record keeping and e-learning
Qualifications and registration:
- Ideally you will have SVQ Level 3 in Social Care. If not we can support you through it!
- You need to be registered with the SSSC
- You’ll also need to be a member of the PVG Scheme
