As a Support Worker in our residential and housing support service, you will support individuals with additional needs to live as independently as possible in their own homes. Working as part of a supportive team, you will help people build confidence, maintain daily routines and participate in their community.

What your day will look like

  • Supporting individuals with daily routines and personal wellbeing
  • Encouraging independence and supporting life skills
  • Supporting individuals with household tasks and maintaining a safe home
  • Supporting individuals to access community activities and opportunities
  • Providing personal care where required within care plans
  • Administering medication in line with agreed procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Working flexibly across shifts including evenings and weekends

About you

You will bring patience, empathy and a genuine commitment to supporting individuals to live independently. You will understand the importance of person centred support and building positive relationships based on trust and respect.

Experience in care is helpful but not essential, as full training and support will be provided. Basic IT skills are required for recording information and completing training. You will hold, or be willing to work towards, an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care. You must be a member of the PVG Scheme and registered with the SSSC, or willing to join and register.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
