Are you an experienced support worker with a steady hand and a kind heart? At Cunningham House, we’re looking for a Senior Support Worker who can bring clarity, calm and confidence to a service supporting adults experiencing homelessness.

This is a hands-on role where you\’ll guide your team, support our residents and help shape a safe and respectful environment for everyone.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading and supporting a team of Support Workers
  • Mentoring staff and promoting best practice
  • Supporting people with complex needs, including emotional, practical and wellbeing support
  • Creating, updating and reviewing support plans
  • Helping residents identify their goals and work towards them
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the service

What we’re looking for:
Relevant experience in homelessness or adult care
A confident team player who can lead and encourage others
A good communicator who builds trust and connection
Strong values, emotional resilience and a calm, respectful approach
A Social Care SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent qualification) is essential

Registration and checks:
You’ll need to be registered with the SSSC and part of the PVG Scheme. If you’re not registered yet, that’s okay. We’ll support you through the process.

As we do our work in Christ’s name the job you have applied for requires you to have a Christian faith and be able to work within and uphold our Christian Ethos. This is an Occupational Requirement under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
