At Carraig View, we create the kind of environment where children and young people can feel safe, valued, and ready to take their next steps. With stunning views across the Firth of Clyde, our home sits proudly on the edge of Port Glasgow. It is a place where young people can build confidence, connect with others, and take part in everyday life through school, activities, and new friendships. Our team are passionate about helping every young person feel they belong.

Be the reason someone feels safe, seen and supported.
Some young people have been through more than most of us can imagine. What they need now is someone steady. Someone who’ll stick with them through the hard days and celebrate the good ones. Someone who shows up and makes life feel a little more manageable.

That someone could be you.

As a Lead Practitioner, you’ll be a key figure in a young person’s life. You’ll get to know them, advocate for them and help them feel heard and valued – often for the first time. This isn’t a leadership role in the traditional sense. It’s about leading with heart, and putting real relationships at the centre of your work.

What you’ll do

  • No two days are ever the same, but your goal is constant – to give children and young people the best possible care and support. That means:
  • Being a consistent, trusted adult and key worker
  • Building strong relationships rooted in empathy and respect
  • Creating and reviewing care plans, risk assessments and reports
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and promoting resilience
  • Helping young people feel included at home, in school and in their communities
  • Taking part in activities, everyday routines and key moments in their lives
  • Working closely with families, schools, health professionals and social workers

What you’ll bring

  • You’ll already have experience working with children or young people, and you’ll know that patience, calmness and compassion are just as important as any qualification. You’ll also bring:
  • An HNC in Social Care
  • SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People) or equivalent
  • Confidence in planning, professional recording and report writing
  • A manual driving licence
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including overnight stays when needed
  • You’ll need to be a member of the PVG Scheme and registered with the SSSC

What you’ll get from us
We’ll support you with training, regular reflective supervision and a workplace culture that puts relationships first – not just with the young people in our care, but with each other too. This is a team that looks out for one another, learns together and takes pride in making a difference.

If you’re looking for a role where what you do truly matters, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today.

We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that support others.

Firstly, there is access to a wide range of exclusive retail and leisure discounts through our rewards scheme and the Blue Light Discount card. We also ensure that your future and that of your loved ones is secured with a generous contributory pension plan and death in service benefit. Balancing work and family are made easier with our suite of enhanced family friendly policies and your health and wellness are prioritised with access to our health cash plan, giving you cash back for a wide range of health treatments. We even have access to a care concierge service to assist you with life\’s challenges, providing invaluable support when you need it most.

But we also know that your training and development is important to you, and as well as a contribution to your professional membership fees, we are keen to support you in making the right steps to learn, grow and develop in ways that are right for you.
