As a Relief Housekeeper in our service, you will support the housekeeping team to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for the people who live here. Working flexibly to cover shifts when needed, including staff absences and annual leave, you will help ensure the service continues to run smoothly. You will be flexible and willing to work on an as‑and‑when‑required basis, as well as attend training when needed.
What your day will look like
- Cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas
- Supporting laundry duties including washing and organising linen
- Replenishing cleaning materials and supplies
- Following infection prevention and control procedures
- Using cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Reporting maintenance or safety concerns
- Supporting housekeeping cover when required
- Helping maintain a welcoming environment
About you
You will be reliable and able to adapt quickly when supporting different shifts. You will be comfortable following cleaning routines and maintaining high standards within the service.
Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is helpful but not essential, as training will be provided. Basic IT skills are required for completing mandatory training. You must be a member of the PVG Scheme or willing to join.
This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
Applicants must have permission to work in the UK. You must also meet all relevant UK visa and immigration requirements.
