Overview
As a Handyperson at CrossReach, you’ll be part of the team that helps keep our service safe, comfortable and well maintained. You’ll carry out practical tasks around the building, support with repairs, and help ensure everything is in good working order for the people who live and work here.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance
- Keeping records of property upkeep
- Escorting tradespeople and supporting with visits
- Advising the manager of any issues that need attention
- Assisting with moving furniture and equipment safely
- Taking part in health and safety training
- Supporting with seasonal outdoor tasks such as clearing paths or maintaining garden areas
- Helping with vehicle checks and documentation if needed
This is a hands-on role where your practical skills and attention to detail will make a real difference to the day-to-day running of the service.
About You
You’re someone who enjoys getting stuck into practical tasks and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly. You’re reliable, observant and happy to work independently or as part of a team. You’ll be comfortable using basic tools, following health and safety guidance, and communicating clearly with colleagues. Basic computer skills are needed for training and record keeping, and a driving licence would be helpful. If you’ve worked in a similar role before, that’s great, but what matters most is your willingness to help and your care for the people around you.
