2 Hour Learning is seeking a deeply technical product leader to spearhead the modernization of our AI‐powered learning ecosystem. This position requires someone with the technical precision to function as a CTO, the product foresight to champion transformational change, and the dedication to apply these capabilities toward unlocking student potential at extraordinary scale. If you are prepared to be at the forefront of reinventing education through AI, this opportunity is for you.

Unlike most companies that append AI to conventional education frameworks as an afterthought, 2 Hour Learning has taken an entirely different approach: we have reconstructed the school model from its foundation, leveraging AI and learning science to completely eliminate the limitations of the traditional classroom. Our students do not simply improve—they excel, earning multiple 4s and 5s on AP exams, demonstrating multi‐year academic growth within a single year, and consistently surpassing their own expectations. We have proven that when AI serves as the core operating system of learning, student achievement skyrockets.

This is not a conventional product management position centered on customer feedback loops or incremental feature rollouts. This is an executive‐level technical product ownership role, where you will own the architecture, technical strategy, and AI integration across our entire learning system. You will be accountable for making the difficult technical tradeoffs that keep our products lean, scalable, and relentlessly focused on improving student outcomes. You will think with the mindset of a CTO but operate with the agility of a product entrepreneur, merging engineering excellence with learning science insights to continuously drive breakthroughs.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Maintaining and demonstrating deep expertise in education products to inform strategic decisions
  • Creating technical specifications that drive important technical decisions while prioritising simplicity, efficiency, and long‐term sustainability
  • Deploying generative AI technologies to automate and optimise engineering processes, in alignment with the strategic goal of minimising manual labour

What You Won't Be Doing

  • Pure people management; this position relies critically on your business and technical expertise
  • Spending your time in meetings, committees, and administrative overhead; we have automated management tasks so you can focus on delivering business value through hands‐on contributions
  • High‐level strategies lacking implementation detail; your recommendations must be grounded in product‐level insights

Vice President of Product Engineering Key Responsibilities

  • Function as the CTO of one or more education products, owning core competencies and generating business value through seamless execution and strategic decision‐making

Basic Requirements

  • Deep experience or interest in data‐driven learning science
  • 7+ years of experience making the important architecture and design decisions on software projects, such as the application of architecture design patterns or significant open‐source technologies
  • 2+ years of experience making design decisions involving the use of cloud computing services (primarily AWS)
  • 4+ years of experience in positions with full technical and delivery ownership on a revenue‐generating product
  • Experience building product features that make advanced use of Generative AI
  • Experience using Generative AI to simplify work processes
