Principal Product Architect, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $400,000/year USD in London

This is not a conventional product management position centered on customer feedback cycles or incremental feature rollouts. This is an executive-level technical product ownership role, where you will own the architecture, technical direction, and AI integration across our entire learning ecosystem. You will be accountable for making critical technical tradeoffs that keep our products lean, scalable, and laser-focused on driving student outcomes. What You Will Be Doing

• Cultivating and demonstrating comprehensive education product expertise to inform strategic choices
• Creating technical specifications that resolve critical technical decisions and emphasize simplicity, efficiency, and sustainable design
• Deploying generative AI capabilities to automate and optimize engineering workflows, in alignment with the strategic objective of minimizing manual effort

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Pure people management; your technical and business judgment will be the primary focus of this role
• Spending your time in meetings, committees, and administrative overhead; we have automated management tasks so you can concentrate on delivering business value through direct execution
• High-level strategies disconnected from implementation; your recommendations must be grounded in product-level understanding

Principal Product Architect Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the CTO for one or more education products, owning foundational competencies and generating business value through flawless execution and strategic leadership

Basic Requirements

• Deep experience or interest in data-driven learning science
• 7+ years of experience making the important architecture and design decisions on software projects, such as the application of architecture design patterns or significant open source technologies
• 2+ years of experience making design decisions involving the use of cloud computing services (primarily AWS)
• 4+ years of experience in positions with full technical and delivery ownership on a revenue-generating product
• Experience building product features that make advanced use of Generative AI
• Experience using Generative AI to simplify work processes

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
