Help shape the future of AI developer adoption. We’re partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed technology company at the forefront of AI infrastructure and developer tooling. Their platform helps engineering teams build, deploy, and scale production-grade AI agents, workflows, and automation systems used by thousands of developers worldwide. As adoption continues to accelerate, they are seeking a Technical Content Engineer to become a key voice within the AI developer community.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys both building and communicating. You’ll combine hands-on software engineering with technical storytelling, creating content that educates, inspires, and influences developers working with AI technologies.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional marketing role. You’ll be creating content from first-hand experience, building real-world applications, experimenting with emerging AI technologies, and sharing insights through blogs, tutorials, videos, demos, and social content. As one of the first dedicated hires in this area, you’ll have significant ownership over content strategy, direction, and execution while working closely with engineering leadership and company founders.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Create High-Impact Technical Content
    • Produce engaging technical content including blogs, tutorials, videos, demos, walkthroughs, and social content.
    • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, valuable resources for developers.
    • Create content that drives engagement, community growth, and product adoption.
  • Own and Shape Content Strategy
    • Define content priorities, channels, publishing cadence, and success metrics.
    • Identify emerging topics and trends within AI, developer tooling, and software infrastructure.
    • Continuously refine strategy based on audience feedback and performance data.
  • Build Real Applications
    • Develop sample applications, integrations, proof-of-concepts, and reference implementations with hands-on experience with the platform and wider AI ecosystem.
    • Use practical experience to create authentic, technically credible content.
  • Support Thought Leadership
    • Collaborate with founders and senior technical leaders to develop articles, insights, and social content.
    • Help amplify technical expertise across the wider developer community.
  • Analyse Performance and Iterate
    • Track engagement, conversions, and content performance.
    • Use data-driven insights to improve content effectiveness.
    • Experiment with new formats, channels, and distribution strategies.
  • Engage with the Developer Community
    • Stay connected to conversations within AI, developer tooling, and open-source communities.
    • Help shape how the company is perceived by engineers and technical decision-makers.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Experience

  • Strong software engineering background with hands-on TypeScript and JavaScript development experience.
  • Ability to build production-quality applications, not just code samples.
  • Demonstrable experience creating technical content that has gained traction with developer audiences.
  • Strong understanding of modern AI tools, frameworks, agents, and workflows.
  • Excellent written communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
  • Experience developing content strategies and measuring impact through meaningful metrics.
  • Comfortable working autonomously within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Existing audience or presence within developer, AI, or technology communities.
  • Experience within Developer Relations (DevRel), developer marketing, developer advocacy, or technical content roles.
  • Background working for developer tools, cloud, infrastructure, SaaS, or AI-focused companies creating content that has generated significant engagement or measurable business outcomes.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or communities.
  • Confidence presenting on video, webinars, demos, or conference talks.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with experience building products, side projects, or startups.

How to prepare for a job interview at Crossley Scott

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Crossley Scott uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
