Our client has been a leading service provider in the renewable energy sector. The company supports producers, developers, investors, and financial institutions through a comprehensive range of services, including:

  • Technical and commercial asset management for wind, solar, and storage projects
  • Technical and financial advisory for wind, solar, and storage projects

With a presence across multiple European countries, the organisation operates as part of a larger international energy group while maintaining full operational independence.

Your Role

We are seeking a visionary, business-driven energy storage expert capable of structuring, expanding, and championing the company’s BESS offering across Europe. Your mission: create opportunities, influence clients’ energy strategies, deliver high-level BESS advisory services, and position the organisation as a key BESS partner in the European market. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a member of the Executive Committee, you will play a pivotal role in the company’s future growth. The role can be based in any of the countries where the company operates, either remotely or from an office location. Regular travel within Europe will be required for executive meetings, client engagements, and industry events.

Your Responsibilities

  • Business Development
    • Build and cultivate a strategic network of developers, investors, utilities, financial institutions, and technology providers
    • Represent the company at industry events and conferences, including participation as a speaker or panellist
    • Identify and structure new opportunities in markets where BESS can serve as a strategic entry point
    • Expand the client portfolio across target geographies
  • Strategic, Technical and Financial Advisory
    • Support clients in defining their BESS strategies, including market targeting, technology selection, business models, and investment planning
    • Lead high-level discussions on regulation, business models, and project structuring
    • Conduct or oversee: Technical and commercial due diligence, Financial and technical modelling, including revenue stacking analysis
    • Provide strong expertise on European electricity markets and regulatory developments
  • Product Positioning & Internal/External Coordination
    • Design and structure the company’s BESS advisory offering in line with evolving market needs
    • Work closely with internal technical teams to ensure high-quality and consistent service delivery
    • Contribute to the development of tools, methodologies, and analytical frameworks for energy storage
    • Manage and coordinate strategic partnerships
    • Monitor regulatory developments, emerging BESS markets, and technological innovation
    • Identify innovative business models and financing structures for energy storage

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Business, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in renewable energy, including at least 3 years focused on BESS
  • Proven experience in business development, client relationship management, and strategic advisory
  • Strong knowledge of energy storage technologies (standalone, co-located, hybrid) and their economic drivers, including revenue stacking
  • Experience in due diligence and/or asset management is advantageous
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Fluent in English; additional European language skills are an asset
