Business Development Manager – Hydrogen Energy Solutions

Location: UK (Hybrid or Remote)

Salary – £70,000 to £100,000 + OTE + Car/Allowance + Benefits

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth across our hydrogen energy storage and generation portfolio. This role is focused on identifying, developing, and closing opportunities within industrial, energy, infrastructure, and off-grid power markets, supporting the transition to low-carbon energy systems.

You will take ownership of the full sales cycle, working closely with technical, engineering, and delivery teams to convert hydrogen projects from early-stage opportunity through to contract execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across hydrogen energy storage, hydrogen generators, and related power applications
  • Engage with industrial end users, EPCs, utilities, developers, OEMs, and project partners
  • Manage the full commercial lifecycle from lead generation, qualification, and proposal development to contract close
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of hydrogen projects across multiple market segments
  • Act as a commercial interface between customers and internal engineering, product, and delivery teams
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and partner meetings
  • Monitor market trends, policy developments, and competitor activity within the hydrogen sector

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in business development or sales within hydrogen energy, energy storage, generators, power systems, or industrial energy solutions
  • Strong understanding of hydrogen technologies including storage, power generation, or integrated energy systems
  • Experience selling Capex-led solutions with long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders
  • Comfortable engaging at both technical and senior commercial levels
  • Track record of building pipelines and closing complex energy or infrastructure projects
  • Self-driven, commercially astute, and motivated by growth in emerging energy markets
  • Background in hydrogen storage systems, fuel cells, hydrogen generators, electrolysers, or hybrid power solutions
  • Exposure to ESS, BESS, microgrids, backup power, or industrial decarbonisation projects
  • Understanding of hydrogen policy, funding mechanisms, or government-backed energy programmes
