The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer within the lighting and electrical sector for an experienced Area Sales Manager to join their growing Midlands team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven sales professional with experience in the lighting, electrical or specification market to develop long-term business relationships and drive sustainable sales growth across the region. Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing existing accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities across the project and specification sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow business opportunities within Lighting Electrical Wholesalers & Lighting Installers
- Promote and sell the company’s lighting product portfolio
- Manage and grow relationships with wholesalers and partners
- Identify and open new customer accounts within the region
- Respond to customer enquiries, quotations and project requests in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide accurate reporting and forecasting to management
- Support product launches, customer training sessions, trade shows, exhibitions and sales presentations
Candidate Requirements
- Proven field sales experience within the lighting, electrical or specification industry
- Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Strong relationships with electrical wholesalers and installers
- Excellent commercial awareness and business development skills
- Ability to build a sales pipeline from the ground up
- Experience delivering technical sales support and customer training
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- High levels of motivation, energy and professionalism
Skills & Qualifications
- Computer literate including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience using CRM/business systems such as Phocas or Navision advantageous
- Full UK driving licence essential
- Technical qualification or degree preferred
- LIA and/or ICEL qualifications highly desirable
