The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

To inspire and equip other women to reach and disciple other women.

To be involved in the pastoral care and discipleship of the women of the church.

To facilitate and liaise with the various groups and volunteers who contribute to the Women’s Ministry, thus being the ‘point’ person.

Developing a strategy to enable all women to access Bible-centred discipleship.

Identifying cohorts that are not catered for currently and potentially falling between the cracks, particularly those without children.

Developing and facilitating Bible-centred discipleship pathways for women.

Building meaningful relationships with the women of the church.

Providing mentoring and spiritual guidance to equip women to mentor and to open the Bible with others.

Helping women navigate faith questions and life transitions.

Organising events to build up women from time to time.

Seeking to develop a culture of whole-life and cross-generational discipleship amongst women.

Modelling involvement in public ministry through up-front roles in Sunday services (such as reading the Bible and leading in prayer).

Providing and coordinating reactive pastoral care for women across various life stages and situations in collaboration with others offering such care.

Offering one-to-one pastoral conversations, prayer support and spiritual guidance when appropriate.

Working in liaison with pastors and other church elders to support women in complex pastoral situations.

Responding to possible pastoral needs which arise on Sundays and throughout the week.

Shaping a welcoming and supportive environment for women to grow in their faith.

Collaborating with the Elders on women’s ministry strategy.

Forming a committee of women who can take a lead in women’s activities.

Coordinating the various women’s activities within the church, helping identify gaps in women’s ministry and developing appropriate responses.

Producing a report each term for the Elders on what has been achieved, what is planned, any items for prayer, challenges etc.

Connecting with other church staff and ministry leaders to ensure holistic care for women.

Maintaining appropriate pastoral records and safeguarding protocols.

Encouraging women in the church to be involved in service.

Identifying and investing in women who show potential to lead ministries within the life of the church, linking these women with other women who can mentor them.

Leading/facilitating formal training sessions or workshops on relevant topics (such as Bible teaching, spiritual gifts, ministry skills).

Equipping women to serve effectively in a range of church ministries.

Organising one or more evangelistic events for women per year.

Equipping and empowering women to be engaged in evangelism.

Ensuring that new women at Duke Street are welcomed.

Helping new women to settle into the church family by connecting them effectively with others/relevant groups.

Helping new women at Duke Street to understand where there are opportunities to serve and use their gifts.

Person Specification

A spiritually mature Christian who is living out a personal relationship with Jesus and has an evident passion for him.

Committed to godly, servant-hearted leadership.

Committed to the vision of Duke Street Church and in agreement with our Statement of Faith and Doctrinal Distinctives.

Enhanced DBS check and a commitment to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Experience of and passion for working with women.

A desire to foster whole-hearted discipleship, engagement with not-yet-believing friends and clarity and compassion with cultural hot button issues.

A strong team player able to give and receive feedback, with a desire to learn and grow individually and as a team.

Strong organisational skills and ability to plan effectively.

Able to communicate effectively in written and verbal form, to build relationships with children, youth and parents.
