The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

This is a fixed term 3 year full-time position. After which time it is assumed that you will be employed as the pastor of the revitalisation project or another church plant. You will be required to do some evening and weekend work in addition to normal church attendance.

Place of work: Initially, The Old Town Hall, Beeston

Holiday entitlement: 25 days per year plus statutory bank holidays.

Salary: From £35,412 based upon experience. Salaries are subject to annual review.

Pension: Responsible to Initially – Pete Brown, Senior Pastor, Redeemer Church. Proposed – Elders of church plant/revitalisation project.

Purpose of the role: The purpose of this role is to support the elders in delivery of the overall vision for Redeemer Church, by leading a revitalisation project we are engaging with in the west of Nottingham. Pastors are given to the church to equip God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up. This role will involve preaching, teaching and shepherding as well as exercising the gifts of evangelist/church planter. A pioneering spirit will be important alongside the ability to work closely with others. Because of the theological and pastoral nature of this role there is an occupational requirement that the postholder is male and a Christian in full agreement with the FIEC statement of faith and doctrinal distinctives. We will consider applications from a range of levels of previous experience. A satisfactory DBS check will be required for the post holder prior to commencing duties.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Taking on leadership of the church planting/revitalisation project
  • Involvement in staff team and eldership
  • Leading services, prayer meetings and guiding vision
  • Shaping and delivering communication strategy
  • Recruitment and equipping of revitalisation team
  • Expectation of becoming pastor of church
  • Able to think and work well at your own initiative and in partnership with others
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with other key church leaders

Personal Requirements:

  • The Biblical qualities of an overseer (as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 & Titus 1)
  • A love for the church and a desire to see its members grow to maturity in their faith
  • A love for those who are not yet Christians and a commitment to the mission and growth of the church locally, nationally and globally
  • An ongoing commitment to personal theological study and prayer
  • The ability to think and act strategically and work at their own initiative as well as in partnership with others
  • Theological training to Bible college-level or equivalent (or currently in such training)
  • Experience of teaching the Bible to congregations
  • Experience of leading ministries within a church, including the ability to gather, lead and develop people and teams
